Blog transition to WordPress

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pete @ 6:42 pm

From now on, I will be simulposting to both Blogger and WordPress.

Blogger – http://petepatriarch.blogspot.com/

WordPress – https://petepatriarch.wordpress.com/

With Fred X’s departure today, I am very worried about this blog being deleted by Google. Anyone know of another blog service that values freedom of speech and won’t delete politically-incorrect material?

  1. No, but I’m working on creating one. We’ll see how it goes.

In the meantime, you can do what I do. I pay to have my own website, so I have complete control over its content. I’ve installed WordPress, so I use its software, but I don’t use WordPress’s hosting.

  2. Pete, what did you think of Fred?

  3. I agree with the wisdom of controlling your own content, but the closure of EB, Captain Zarmband and Fred X don’t look to me like Google’s work. They’d just shut the site down so that the link didn’t work anymore.

  4. Anon, I liked Fred. If you mean what I thought of his blog closing and the subsequent comment by his “brother,” I am going to be cautious. Moving my blog off of blogspot has a few benefits that I didn’t know about when I started blogging. I’m not keeping my eggs in Google’s basket.

  5. Pete, when you get a chance, send a message to wordpress telling them you’re the admin of your blog and that you’d like your content marked as mature. IMO, better for you (the admin) to request your blog be reported and marked as mature, versus some Feminist.

“Blogs with legal adult content are not removed. They are flagged as “Mature”” ….

  6. Thanks, dontmarry. I’m assuming you’ve done the same for your blog? Are there any other repercussions to reporting my blog as mature, like not appearing in search results?
