Only men are losers

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pete @ 1:40 pm

I saw this on The Onion today. The Onion is of course the satirical newspaper/website with all sorts of funny articles, polls and other such stuff.

Anyway, they had this “story” up today… Area Man has sad little routine for when he needs cheering up.

Wes Mendic, a grown man who works at a pool-supply store and lives all by himself, finds solace in a series of sad, piddling little activities when he is feeling down, he reported from his tiny one- bedroom apartment Tuesday.

The story describes the man’s activities, the way he leads his pithy, boring little life and pokes fun at what he considers “fun”.

There is no gender-bias if the article is looked at in a vacuum, but I’ve observed that women can not be boring losers. Whether they stay at home or go clubbing, whether they vegetate in front of the TV or play World of Warcraft, whether they take up sewing or a string of bad boys, whether they get a cat and a vibrator, women are not “boring”. They’re just bored. The relation? Men need to be entertaining, women need to be entertained.

And its only a short jump from that to claiming women are oppressed by men who won’t entertain them. Look at how, in that article, the usual shaming and blaming starts from the title – “women” versus “boys”. I’m telling you, these female supremacists stole the story, along with the preface, foreword and epilogue from George Orwell’s books.

Society doesn’t view women as boring. Just the fact that they exist and have a pretty enough face is enough most of the time. Society will always find someone else to blame for women’s shortcomings, whether the shortcomings are of women as a whole (YOU MISOGYNIST SMALL-DICKED LOSER!!) or of a particular female (U R GAYYY!!!) .

Brilliant!!!! Pete, I have that on a t-shirt, and always wondered where the verbiage came from.

    Now I know.

  2. I’ve noticed that even in The Onion one can find a lot of “humorous” articles written with a man bad/loser, woman good/winner theme to it. I’ve even lost interest in reading The Onion because of this bias.

For example, in the MSM, if a man has a hard time finding a date, it’s because he’s somehow lacking. If a woman has a hard time finding a date, it’s because the culture isn’t being fair to her.
