Virginia Larkin’s daughter pays me a visit

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pete @ 8:34 pm

I checked my email a few days ago to find a comment waiting for me that I hadn’t expected.

You may remember I wrote about Howard Raff, the man who killed Virginia Larkin because she was trying to bankrupt him using the child support system. To recap:

Raff said in a videotaped confession that he drove from Arizona to California to kill Larkin. He described walking into the Ukiah law office where she worked in November of last year, shooting her in the head, then turning himself in at the courthouse.

He told jurors the killing was justified because Larkin was trying to bankrupt him. After dodging the court-ordered $200-per-month payments for 22 years, the debt had grown to $85,500 with interest.

“It is incomprehensible to the court how a decision to kill can be motivated by court-ordered child support,” Judge Ronald Brown said at the sentencing.

Now, I’ll just say this – murder is a bad bad thing. What Raff did was not right. However, what the system does to men is not right either. I’m not saying two wrongs make a right – hell, Raff didn’t even target the system that enforced Virginia Larkin’s wishes!

Moving on. Well, apparently Larkin had a grand-daughter, and that little angel paid me a visit! Here’s the comment:

What can I say, I bet her grammie was as classy as her! You know what, Amanda, it may just be that Howard Raff was every bit the cruel psychotic son of a bitch you say he was. But I know American women. You just hate men with every fiber of your being. Truth certainly can take a back seat to misandry and it does, every day. Now, there are certainly bad men. Just like there are bad women. You can certainly convince me that Raff was one of those. But I’ve seen countless men’s stories who are just like Raff’s, who just suck it up with no end in sight except death, and watching her get fat with his money. And let me tell you, the ongoing, bureaucrat-stamped theft of a man’s hard earned money by his ex is every bit as soul destroying as rape.

You know what, if grammie was trying to bankrupt him – years, no — decades after her own daughter had grown up and had had children of her own (that’s you, if you’re keeping count), I bet a love and appreciation of men was not on the menu for you growing up. Tell us about yourself — are you yourself the product of a broken home? You’re 23 if I’m not mistaken. Prime age for the slut generation. How many cocks have you had? In the last week? Try not to suck any dick while you’re posting a comment, hon!

I take a woman’s word about a man with a hefty pinch of the proverbial. And that’s an understatement. Women lie. They lie all the fucking time, especially rejoicing in telling lies that ruin men’s lives. All you females think about when you look at a man are how big his wallet is, or how much of an asshole he is. Whatever gives you the most tingles, right? Take care, hon.

  1. “It is incomprehensible to the court how a decision to kill can be motivated by court-ordered child support,”

It is NOT incomprehensible. It is a perfectly logical consequence of the existing system. He can’t pay this money, no matter what he can’t afford it. He knows he will be put into to prison for this, every man knows this. There is an old phrase “one might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb”. An explanation of that phrase and what it means is here: https://petepatriarch.wordpress.com/2010/08/11/virginia-larkins-daughter-pays-me-a-visit/#respond

“The origin lies in the brutal history of English law. At one time, a great many crimes automatically attracted the death penalty: you could be hanged, for example, for stealing goods worth more than a shilling. Sheep stealing was among these capital crimes. So if you were going to steal a sheep, you might as well take a full-grown one rather than a lamb, because the penalty was going to be the same either way.”

This man will spend the rest of his life in prison for “contempt” for a debt he can never repay. He may get a respite now and then but that is at the pleasure of the Judge (who has a vested pecuniary interest in the system and has no power thanks to the Bradley amendment to forgive ANY of it for ANY reason). So he logically figures since he is going to prison for life anyway – he might as well make it for a REAL crime. This is only illogical if you shut your eyes at the methods used to enforce child support ~ which of course the judge has every reason to obfuscate and conceal as he makes money off the system.

  2. Hard to see how the judge could be so obtuse.

People shoot and kill robbers trying to extort them all the time, and have done so ever since guns were invented. Before then they ran them through with swords, stabbed them with knives, hit them over the head with clubs and used their bare hands.

People protecting themselves from theft and being dominated by others is a universal, unchanging theme throughout history – and will continue to be for as long as people still walk this planet.

  3. Child support leads to so many tragedies and ruined lives; it’s not at all incomprehensible that this man was driven to do what he did.

Perhaps the way forward is either for courts to award custody to the father rather than the mother in the first instance, or look again at the whole messed-up system of child support.

  4. I have issues with what you have wrote about my family and published without knowing your facts. Please email me. I would like to send you some facts that you should have known before writing and publishing your opinion statements of this tragedy. I will fill you in after you email me on some facts that I wish you would have known ahead of time.

  6. You know I’m in a relationship where my fiancé is forced to pay child support and we have “our” daughter 50/50. Killing someone for justice is not okay in any way. My grandma never wanted child support it was in fact the state. Howard threatened my grandma on numerous occasions and beat my uncles. In fact he broke a glass beer bottle over the child him and my grandma shared, Stacy Larkins head. His own flesh in blood. 200/ month will not make him bankrupt. What made him bankrupt was not paying and accumulating debt, as any credit card you don’t pay or any bill for that matter. This disgusts me immensely. You should feel sorry for yourself to talk trash about someone who is deceased. I bet if it were your grandma you wouldn’t say this nonsense. Put yourself in our shoes. She was taken too young. He not only took her life but a part of her children and grandchildren too.
